Engineering Manager

I lead multiple engineering squads at Sky, currently overseeing the Wrench Dodgers and Basketeers teams within the Join, Onboard, Engage Agile Release Train (JOE ART), part of the Cross-Product Sales Experience Portfolio.

My role spans delivery leadership, people management, and technical advocacy, with a clear focus on building high-performing, inclusive squads that deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.

Before moving into JOE ART, I led squads within MSA (My Sky App), delivering features and enhancements to Sky’s flagship React Native mobile app used by millions of customers. I also managed the Pebbles, where I played a key role in building resilient delivery practices and embedding quality-first engineering culture.

Across these varied domains—mobile, web, and cross-product platforms—I’ve consistently driven results by combining strong technical insight with compassionate, growth-focused leadership. 

Key Responsibilities:

• I manage two cross-functional engineering squads, supporting a mix of permanent engineers, contractors, and early-career talent, with a strong focus on coaching, 1:1s, and performance development.

• I provide technical guidance on architecture, testing, release pipelines, and platform evolution, including work on complex React Native delivery within the MySky App ecosystem.

• I partner closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Delivery Leads to ensure alignment on objectives, predictability in delivery, and clarity in scope.

• I champion engineering excellence through regular process reviews, feedback loops, and community practices—across both web and mobile platforms.

• I’ve led my teams through major transitions, including SAFe adoption, squad realignments, and contractor off-boarding, all while maintaining team engagement and delivery cadence.

• I manage hiring, onboarding, and resource planning across squads, ensuring stability and adaptability in changing portfolio landscapes.

• I’ve directly supported Associate Engineers transitioning from graduate programs (e.g. from Shenron squad into Transit/Basketeers), fostering early-career growth and building technical confidence.

• I regularly contribute to wider engineering initiatives, such as refining engineering standards, aligning technical roadmaps with portfolio OKRs, and representing team needs in cross-team leadership forums.
